We’re taught to believe that fear is the result of what’s going on in the world. That way we keep looking outside of ourselves for the answer, the healing, the Peace. It’s a good trick.

If we look within, we can find the kingdom. Spiritual practice is the way. It’s not in a book, it’s in our heart. It’s in our mind.

Spiritual practice is a true fear buster. It’s the only thing I know that really works and heals the root causes of fear. And yet, sometimes being worried and afraid feels so familiar that we cling to the habits of fear.

When we’re afraid all the time, we’re less likely to take risks and take chances, so we play small to play it “safe.” Playing it safe can also be extremely painful.

For a long time I thought that the time wasn’t right to take risks. I was waiting for things in the world to align. I thought I needed things to be different in the world before I could be successful.

One of the greatest learnings I’ve had is that Spirit always provides what’s needed for the highest and best to unfold.

My job is to trust that and not second guess God.

It’s definitely a learning curve.

I’ve also learned that fear is optional. We can get used to living without fear as a motivator. We don’t have to frighten ourselves into doing things. In other words, we don’t have to berate ourselves and chastise ourselves in order to get things accomplished.

We can learn to be that loving parent that encourages and inspires.

I’d much rather inspire myself with a vision of Beauty and Love then motivate myself with a threat of lack and loss.

I encourage you to look at the reasons behind your choices. I wrote about this recently – the ends is in the means. If we’d like to have prosperous ends, we must employ the means for prosperity which are always going to be Love and gratitude, gratitude and Love!

Through the simple practices of Love and gratitude we bust up fear. Fear has no power. Love is the ONLY power and gratitude helps us to remember to choose Love!

Accomplishing a lot isn’t the answer. Love is. Peace is.

We can learn to be our own loving parent that encourages and inspires.

Latest  ACIM PODCAST EPISODE: my topic is You ARE the Treasure: Why God Values You Above Everything Else. Exploring “The Treasure of God” from A Course in Miracles Chapter 8, I share the profound revelation that WE are God’s only treasure – not money or worldly things, but us. Through Jesus’s retelling of the prodigal son story and my reflection on how movies like The Matrix, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings all feature “savior of the world” themes, I realized we’re all meant to be saviors through joining with the Holy Spirit and seeing Christ in everyone. The key to moving from confusion to clarity is accepting that EVERYONE is equally valuable to God – from the worst person imaginable to Mother Teresa – and understanding that God’s will is our will, there’s no separation. Our function is to create and extend love in whatever form that takes, whether cooking a meal or teaching a class, and when we accept our true value as God’s treasure, we can finally live in the peace and freedom that is our birthright!
