It’s so crazy that the ego always wants to make someone else responsible for our problems. The ego also wants to give them the responsibility for our healing. That’s a sure way to have more and more problems and to feel sick, tired and stuck most of the time.
What I’m really understanding about this healing work that we’re all doing is if we put the responsibility for the problem or the healing on anyone else’s plate, then we’re going to be waiting a long, long time. Time has no healing power.
I’ve always loved this quote from Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., in his famous “Letter From the Birmingham Jail” (which he wrote on toilet paper, BTW) he speaks eloquently of time and healing in responding to a public statement of concern and caution issued by eight white religious leaders of the South:
“I had also hoped that the white moderate would reject the myth of time. I received a letter this morning from a white brother in Texas which said, ‘All Christians know that the colored people will receive equal rights eventually, but is it possible that you are in too great of a religious hurry? It has taken Christianity almost 2000 years to accomplish what it has. The teachings of Christ take time to come to earth.’ All that is said here grows out of a tragic misconception of time. It is the strangely irrational notion that there is something in the very flow of time that will inevitably cure all ills. Actually, time is neutral. It can be used either destructively or constructively. I am coming to feel that the people of ill will have used time much more effectively than the people of good will. We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the vitriolic words and actions of the bad people but for the appalling silence of the good people. We must come to see that human progress never rolls in on wheels of inevitability. It comes through the tireless efforts and persistent work of men willing to be coworkers with God, and without this hard work time itself becomes an ally of the forces of social stagnation.”
Aren’t we glad that King knew that Love is the healer? He knew that matching hate with hate wouldn’t get the job done, only Love could. He was wiling to be that tireless co-worker.
Now, we could take a moment to be offended that King said men would be the ones who did the work – and we know he knew it takes women, boys, girls and a collective. So, let’s not get stuck on that. I’ll say two more words about that: Rosa Parks.
What I love is King’s reminder that we must work with God. We don’t have to “make it happen.” We must Partner UP AND be willing to take responsibility for the healing we so deeply desire. It is an inside job. King knew this. We al know this if we’re paying attention to our heart. There are no blocks to Love’s healing except in our own mind – so let’s take responsibility for ALLOWING them to be healed through our active choice of Love!

These are the ego’s delay tactics. Don’t be fooled again.
Take responsibility for ALL of it. NO BLAME, responsibility is different. Give the healing to the Higher Holy Spirit Self.
Watch for the opportunities to increase the Love dosage.Be mindful of all judgments and release them to Spirit for healing.
Waiting for your healing is literally only going to prolong your suffering. No one is asking you to wait! Partner UP!
