Yesterday on the Camino Adventure was lovely! It was a beautiful day and everything went well all day. I’m quite grateful.
Traveling always gives us a new perspective and that’s helpful.
A Course in Miracles teaches us that pain is a wrong perspective – it’s the perspective of thinking we’re a body, thinking we’re on our own and have to figure it out all by ourselves instead of being part of a magnificent infinite field of Love Intelligence.
When we’re connected with Spirit we get all kinds of insights we wouldn’t otherwise have. And sometimes they’re quire surprising – I find this happens all the time!
Because of my responsibilities with the ministry I find myself spending much of the evening in my room taking care of administrative things and sometimes staying up past midnight to get them done. I find it doesn’t bother me and I don’t resent not being able to go out with the others and enjoy discovering the new place we’re in.
Sure – I’d love to be able to do that – but even more, I love being able to support our team at Power of Love Ministry, and write my Daily Shot of Spiritual Espresso – as well as do my podcast and other such things. I feel they’re cherished responsibilities. There’s no pain, no loss, no deprivation, and no sacrifice because my perspective is in alignment with Spirit.
Recording my prayer the day before, late at night, not wishing to wake my best friend and roommate, Gina, I was recording the prayer in the bathroom and it was just SO echoey. I asked Spirit what to do and I got: Put a towel over your head and record under the towel – I did and it worked. I don’t think I could ever have thought of that on my own.
Here’s another thing that I’ve realized I really appreciate and am grateful for: In the USA there are so many immigrants coming all of the time, we have this wonderful diversity of cuisine. In many cases we’ve taken the best of a number of things and combined them – although right now I can’t think of a great example.
I love the spices and tastes of a lot of the food we can get in America. In Portugal, the food was great, but sometimes it was surprisingly bland when it didn’t have to be. I’ve had calamari several times and most of the time it’s been quite plain, but one time there was some influence from other countries in the kitchen and it was spectacular – the best calamari ever!
One of the things I appreciate about myself is I like to enjoy things and I like to have a good time. I like to do what I can to help others have a good time. I enjoy being able to offer to be of service.
Sharing makes life great.
I was grateful yesterday wasn’t too hot or intense and I was grateful for the variety of terrain we crossed and the wonderful people we met along the way.
