When our relationships are for the purpose of helping us to feel and know and understand the holiness of all life, and the oneness of all life, then they are holy and indeed profoundly healing.
When our relationships are for the purpose of making us feel better about ourselves, less lonely, important or special, then will only increase those feelings and lead to more suffering.
When we idolize the person we’re in relationship with we’re headed down a slippery slope and our experience will be one of repeating the past, again. It’s heartbreaking – or so it seems.
The thing to note is that the holy relationship has a completely different purpose then the “special” relationship and so they feel so completely different.
The holy relationship is always bringing more happiness and expansion and the special relationship is always offering us more learning through our suffering.
I don’t know about you, but I’m done with learning through suffering. Done, I tell you! I’m for holy relationships all the way!
