When it feels so hard, when it feels impossible to let it go – when we feel like we’d like to let it go, but we just don’t seem to be able to – here’s what I’ve learned that has been a real difference for people:
Focus on the judgments.
The judgments we have against the people, the companies, whatever it is. The judgments we have about ourselves – that we should have done this, we shouldn’t have done that.
It’s about saying: I do not know what anything is for. But I do know that, according to A Course in Miracles, everything is helpful, no exceptions, and everything works together for our good, no exceptions.
Now, that doesn’t mean terrible things were “meant” for our good.
But Spirit always uses everything for good.
Where there are lemons, Spirit will definitely, definitely make lemonade.
IF we’re willing to have some lemonade.
However – and here’s the part that takes real honesty – we may be so angry, so hurt, so unwilling to release our judgments and our attack thoughts. We may be so identified with the loss or the grievance or the grudge, we may be so identified as a victim that we cannot bear to let it go.
Because if we’re not the victim anymore, who are we?
Who are we?
Ugh. I know that question. I lived in that question for a LONG time.
And what I’ve found is that it’s very much related to deep, old decisions that are coming up for healing in this lifetime. We can do that healing if we’re willing. So willingness is the only requirement.
A Course in Miracles Lesson 68 asks us: “Would you not be willing to relinquish your grievances if you believed all this were so?”
If we believed that forgiveness would give us everything we want – would we not be willing to let the grievances go?
Yes. We would. And we can.
Our FREE Forgiveness Workshops are really about cultivating that sincere willingness so that we can let it go. And it does work in a miraculous way. The next one is Sunday, March 15 – come join me!
And if there’s one particular person we just can’t seem to release, my Letting Go of A Person Deep Dive Workshop on March 21 is a sacred space to do that deep work.
Let’s find out who we really are – beyond the victim story.
Let’s do this together!
