The oriental art of Feng Shui teaches me to regularly purge my home. To purge is to release all the things that I store and hold onto that I don’t really need or use. Feng Shui teaches that holding onto unused things energetically affirms that I’m afraid the future might not be as prosperous as the present. Each choice that we make about anything, really does ripple out, energetically into all areas of our life, and throughout the Infinite.

Preparing for future lack through hoarding stuff now obviously does not help me create a prosperous future. Hoarding is making choices from feeling afraid. Yet, how often do people hoard things they don’t need rather than share, without even realizing the effect they are causing?

Years ago I hired a Feng Shui consultant. I learned a lot. Part of our conversation went something like this:

Feng Shui Consultant: Have you got any broken phones you’re holding onto?

Jennifer: Why? (I didn’t really know.)

Feng Shui Consultant: Do you plan to fix it?

Jennifer: No, I sure don’t. I wouldn’t know how. Do people fix phones anymore?

Feng Shui Consultant: So, why are you holding onto it?

Jennifer: I guess it’s because it once cost a bunch of money, and I don’t like thinking that it’s worthless now. I didn’t really think about it very much. I guess, that throwing it away now is like admitting that I made a bad decision or did something wrong when the phone was bought or when it was broken.

Feng Shui Consultant: Do you have communication problems in your relationships?

Jennifer: Uhhhhh …. Hmmmmm. Yes, I guess I do.

Feng Shui Consultant: Getting rid of the broken phones will help you to clear that energetically.

We all have an interesting and unique relationship to our possessions. In THE PATHWAY OF ROSES, Christian D. Larson wrote, “Every individual is entitled to all the riches of the spiritual kingdom, and in addition, to the possession of as many things … as he can possibly appreciate and use in the enrichment of all the realms of his own entire existence. But before he can secure all these things, he must cause his personal nature and his spiritual nature to live together as one … the first essential is to make the best use possible of everything that we may possess now.”

Today, I commit to purging myself of all thoughts of lack and limitation that I’ve accumulated. I’m dissolving any and all thoughts of unworthiness. I’m releasing old opinions I’ve had about others that don’t create a sense of well being. I’m letting go of any attachment I have to opinions others have had about me that don’t empower me and support me living my very best life. Let the purge begin and let the prosperity flood gates open!

I’m willing to purge my home, my office, my mind and my life. Out of self-Love, I keep only what I need and enjoy. I share with others the things that have just been sitting there going unused. Recycling as I go, I purge the areas of my life feel stuck and stagnant and I make room for more peace, more love, more joy, more abundance and prosperity, and more FUN! Just thinking of it makes me feel lighter. Phew!

Today, I release what doesn’t serve and expand into my magnificence.

If you’re finding what I’m sharing to be helpful won’t you please share at facebook and twitter to let others know? Thank you!
