Thanksgiving is almost here and let’s have a shift.  We can do this.  We can let go of the painful habits that strain our relationships.

Where to start?  Don’t blame anyone. You’re One with everyone, so why project the responsibility out onto someone else when there really is no other?

I know, I know—it feels so satisfying in the moment to blame. They did that thing. They said those words. They made this mess. But here’s what helped me see it correctly: every time I blame, I’m actually preserving the very thing I want to be free of.

The Course Is Clear

A Course in Miracles is crystal clear about this in Chapter 7: “Do not project the responsibility for your belief in it onto anyone else, or you will preserve the belief.”

Did you catch that? When we blame our parents, our family, the culture, anyone—we preserve the belief in the ego. We keep it alive and well in our mind.

In what world can that be helpful to us?  NOT this one!

The Holiday Opportunity

With Thanksgiving here and the holiday season in full swing, this is such a powerful time to practice.

Family gatherings can bring up all kinds of opportunities to blame—old grievances, childhood wounds, that thing your brother-in-law said three years ago.

But what if we used these moments differently?

When we’re willing to accept sole responsibility for the ego’s existence in our mind, we’ll have laid aside all anger and all attack, because they come from an attempt to project responsibility for our own errors.

The Practice I Use

Here’s the practice I use: When I recognize an errant thought, an ego thought, I say to the Holy Spirit, “Please take this thought out of my mind so I never think it again! I’m done with it! I don’t have a value of it anymore. I’m complete.”

And then I give it over, as A Course in Miracles says, “Give them over quickly to the Holy Spirit to be undone completely, so that all their effects will vanish from your mind and from the Sonship as a whole.”

This is why I love our Free Forgiveness Workshops—we practice exactly this. We stop blaming and start taking responsibility for our own mind. And when we do, miracles happen.

Our Power to Be Free

We don’t have to drag blame into another year. We can set it down right now.

The errors are ours to give to Spirit—not to project onto someone else. And that’s actually the best news, because it means we have the power to remember that we’re already free.  AND we’re already as holy as holy can be!

Join us in my Masterful Living Program in 2026 – this is where we’ll do this transformational work together.
Or start with a FREE Forgiveness Workshop (next one is Sunday, Dec 7)  where you’ll learn the exact practices that can heal your heart and your life.

The patterns stop with us. If you’ve been carrying decades of pain in your relationships with your mother, daughter, or sister—the resentments that won’t let go, the silence that feels permanent, the wounds passed down through generations—this is your invitation to freedom. Join me for Mother, Daughter, Sister: Spiritual Healing for Ourselves, Our Family & the World, a powerful 4-part transformational series where we’ll work at the level of mind to heal what feels impossible to heal. I’ll share the same spiritual tools I used to transform my relationship with my mother before her transition—tools that create quantum healing because all minds are joined. When YOU are willing to change your mind about yourself, about them, about the past, miracles ripple through your whole family. You don’t need them to change, apologize, or even participate. Your willingness is enough. We start this Thursday, December 4th Let’s do this together. 💜

NEW ACIM PODCAST EPISODE:   The Night Gratitude Saved My Life, In this Thanksgiving week episode, I dive deep into Lesson 195, “Love is the way I walk in gratitude,” sharing how gratitude became my game-changer long before I found A Course in Miracles. I tell the story of how I learned there’s no way to wish punishment on another without experiencing it myself because we’re in “instant karma time.” True gratitude makes no comparisons and no exceptions—we’re grateful for ALL because we’re separate from no living thing, and when our forgiveness is complete, we’ll have total gratitude, seeing that everything has earned the right to love by being loving.
