I used to think spiritual growth meant struggling to be good.

Then I discovered the crossroads – that moment of choice where everything can shift. And learning to stand there changed everything.

The Choice Point Revolution

Picture this: You’re about to spiral down into that familiar pattern. The resentment. The self-attack. The obsessive thinking about what they did or what you didn’t do.

But instead of getting on what I call “the pain train,” you pause. You stand at the crossroads and actually feel the temptation without acting on it.

This is where miracles happen.

My Crossroads Practice

When I learned to stand at that choice point, here’s what I discovered:

• I could notice my thoughts without becoming them
• I could feel the pull of ego without following it
• I could choose again—and again and again

At that crossroads, I’d say: “Jesus, I join with you. Holy Spirit, I’m not interested in the old choices anymore. I’m only interested in the thoughts I think with God.”

No More Two-Steps-Back

For years, my spiritual journey felt like two steps forward, one step back, another step back. I was banging my head against a glass ceiling, convinced there must be some secret code to breakthrough.

The secret? Stop trying to go both ways. Stop attempting to hold onto ego AND Spirit.

As Jesus tells us in the Course: “Do not attempt to hold on to both or you will try to go in different directions and will lose the way.”

Your Crossroads Moment

Right now, you’re standing at a crossroads. Will you choose the familiar darkness of unworthiness? Or will you choose to remember you’re worthy of perfect happiness?

God’s will for you is perfect happiness.

Not after you fix yourself. Not when you finally become “spiritual enough.” Right now.
