If we have a willingness to be that heart center of healing in our family – to be that place where God can use us to bring the healing to everyone around us – that willingness is not from ego.
It’s not being better than everyone.
I tried that. Oh, I used that for a long time. “I am spiritually superior to these people.” I’m spiritually superior to everyone that I’m not spiritually inferior to. I went through that for a long, long time.
Now – thank you very much – I’m happy with oneness. I’m happy with being one with my brothers and sisters. Not even equal to. Don’t need that. Just unity, oneness, total oneness. That’s what I’m interested in.
It’s not grandiose. It’s not ego to say, “I’m on a mission to really heal my mind so that all of humanity can heal too.” That’s actually our function. That’s what extension means.
A Course in Miracles tells us: “The full appreciation of the mind’s self-fullness makes selfishness impossible and extension inevitable. This is why there is perfect Peace in the Kingdom.”
Self-fullness makes selfishness impossible.
When we’re truly full – truly experiencing the fullness of God as our life and being – sharing becomes as natural as breathing. We can’t help but extend it.
Here’s what helped me see it correctly: anytime we’re feeling worried, anxious, or afraid, feeling guilty or ashamed – anytime we’re out of balance – we’re being called to express our magnificence and to give up the littleness.
This is the teaching of A Course in Miracles.
Everything
we need will be provided.
Our willingness is the only requirement.
We start where we are. It’s always a good time to start. We don’t need to have it all figured out. We don’t need to be “spiritual enough.” We just need willingness.
Spirit has what it takes, which means we have what it takes and Spirit is just asking for our willingness.
Our personality doesn’t have what it takes – and it never could. That’s actually a relief. We don’t need to think that thought anymore.
