We live in a culture obsessed with understanding everything. We want to know why things happened, what caused our problems, and how to fix them step by step. But what if our need to figure everything out is actually keeping us stuck?

One of the most liberating teachings in A Course in Miracles is “I cannot let you leave your mind unguarded, or you will not be able to help me.” The miracle worker must have genuine respect for true cause and effect. But here’s what we miss: we don’t have to be the ones who understand the cause and effect. That’s the Holy Spirit’s job.

Our ego-identified personality wants to be in charge of the healing process. It wants to analyze our childhood, understand our patterns, and create detailed strategies for change. But this is like a patient trying to perform surgery on themselves. We’re using the wrong tool for the job.

Think about how much mental energy you spend trying to figure out why your relationships keep following the same patterns, why you can’t seem to break certain habits, or why the same challenges keep showing up in your life. All that analysis might be interesting, but it rarely leads to lasting change.

The truth is, our Higher Holy Spirit Self already knows everything we need to know about our healing. It knows exactly why things happened, what needs to shift, and how to create lasting transformation. Our part isn’t to understand – our part is to be willing.

When we’re constantly trying to figure things out, we’re operating from the part of our mind that created the problems in the first place.

It’s like asking our confusion to explain our confusion. But when we step back and say, “I don’t need to understand this. I just need to be willing to let it go,” we open the door for real wisdom to enter.

This doesn’t make us passive or irresponsible. It makes us humble enough to receive help from the source that actually knows how to help us. Instead of laboring in vain to understand our pain, we can focus on our willingness to be free from it.

The next time you catch yourself obsessing over why something happened or how to fix it, try a different approach: “I don’t know what this is for, but I’m willing to let the Holy Spirit show me. I don’t need to figure this out – I just need to be open to healing.”

That willingness to not know everything is often the beginning of knowing what really matters.

SATURDAY FORGIVENESS WORKSHOP – If you’d like to address the root cause of ALL your challenges rather than managing symptoms forever, join with like-minded souls for my FREE Forgiveness Workshop this Saturday, October 18. In this sacred gathering, we’ll practice the forgiveness process that dissolves the belief in separation at its source. You’ll discover how every upset, every conflict, every struggle is really the same issue in different costumes – and how one powerful spiritual process can heal them all. Come experience what happens when we stop trying to solve a thousand different problems and start healing the one thing that creates them all. Your willingness to choose Love over separation is all that’s needed.

If you’re ready to have a deep heart healing, consider joining my Quantum Counseling Training Intensive. This profound 8-day program, beginning October 31st, will guide you through the same transformation I experienced – and teach you how to facilitate it for others. You’ll learn to see the world through Love’s eyes and become a beacon of hope for those still trapped in judgment. Through experiential exercises and heart-centered techniques, you’ll develop the skills to help others find peace in a chaotic world. LATEST ACIM PODCAST EPISODE: In this episode, I dive into ACIM teachings on oneness from Chapter 9, Section 6 on The Acceptance of Your Brother —and how this realization transforms the way we approach our relationships, especially helpful to us during the upcoming holiday season. I share my personal journey from difficult family gatherings to peaceful celebrations by learning this profound truth: your brothers and sisters are part of you, and rejecting them means rejecting yourself. I open up about my 25 years as a spiritual counselor and how seeing perfection in my clients taught me to see it in myself, and I guide you through the practice of extending love even when it’s hard—especially with the relatives who trigger you most. I also share my perspective that humanity is experiencing a collective “extinction burst” where all our separation thinking is surfacing intensely before we break through to collective awakening, and I invite you to join me in choosing to see the Christ in everyone as we prepare for the holidays ahead.
