When I first started sharing what I was learning, I had a very small audience. That never troubled me, because it was never a numbers game.

My whole heart was, and still is, in the connection itself. If it’s only you and me, that’s plenty. Because we share the same mind with all the world.

Then I read something in the Manual for Teachers that changed how I understood my whole path:

“Certain pupils have been assigned to each of God’s teachers, and they will begin to look for her as soon as she has answered the call.”

I felt myself exhale.

I didn’t have to chase anyone. I didn’t have to prove myself or scramble to fill a room. My pupils were already assigned to me. My only job was to be ready to learn, so I’d have something real to share.

A Course in Miracles says it even more beautifully:

“When the teacher of God is ready to learn, the opportunities to teach will be provided for him.”

Ain’t that the truth.

When I became truly ready to learn, not only to gather spiritual information, not only to feel better about myself, not only to end my own suffering, but truly ready to release my ego identification and remember myself as the Christ, the opportunities poured in.

Ready first. Then the way opens.

This is the ministration of Christ, and it isn’t a religious thing at all. It’s simply doing what Jesus did: walking among people, keeping our minds open to Spirit, and sharing whatever Spirit is guiding.

Here’s what I love most about it. Being a teacher of God doesn’t mean you have to do what I do. It can look like anything.

One person’s classroom is their grandchild. Another’s is a co-worker or a parent.

You might feel called to teach and counsel. You might feel called to bake pies, design buildings, raise babies, tend crops, prepare taxes or simply be the loving heart of your family, healing the old dynamics that once felt so painful.

It’s all being of service. Every bit of it.

A Course in Miracles reminds us that the form varies greatly, but the content never changes.

The central theme is always the same: God’s Son is guiltless, and in his innocence is his salvation.

We teach it by living it. By walking through our days as people who’ve stopped feeding the guilt and started trusting the innocence.

Here’s the promise that steadies me. It doesn’t matter who we were before we heard the call. The moment we answer, ACIM says, we become a savior. We’ve seen someone else as our Self. We’ve found our own salvation and the salvation of the world.

In our rebirth, the world is reborn.

That’s the scale of what’s on offer here. Not self-improvement. The reawakening of the world, one willing heart at a time.

And it begins so simply. It begins with a willingness to be ready, to keep learning, to let ourselves be used by Love in whatever form our life is already taking.
