As we’re on the precipice of the new year and this new cycle of 9 years (according to numerology) – the beginning of our fresh start, our reboot opportunity – I would like to do everything I can to encourage you to take real time, to contemplate and connect with the very highest guidance you can receive and begin to get NEW clarity about your function and your awakening.

I love doing this.  In my programs we set our intention, our trajectory, our goals and aspirations.  We use visualization and I’m recalling conversations I’ve had with folks who were in my year-long Masterful Living Program over the years.

I’d like to share something beautiful that demonstrates the power of intention and willingness to work with Spirit.  My goal is to inspire you to truly stop and reflect, remembering that your mind is the mind of God and that there are always higher options in our script, but we do have to actively choose them.

At the beginning of one year, a participant in my Masterful Living Program, I’ll call her Olivia wrote down how she desired to feel and what she wanted to be able to say to me one year from then. She wrote it as though it were already accomplished:

“I can’t believe it. I am living an authentic spiritual life with God. Every day when I pray and meditate, I am led to listen to and follow my heart. I’m literally being guided by the Holy Spirit every minute. I have an accepting openness to life and situations without worry, fear or judgment. My guilt is gone. I have close friends and love to get together with them. I’m living a miraculous life every day with a loving, giving heart.”

Where She Started

When Olivia wrote that, she didn’t believe it was possible.
She had given up hope on herself.
She felt like the darkness in her life was because she deserved it and earned it.

Olivia couldn’t really stand her personality anymore because she was shutting people off. Every time she’d have an opinion, she felt people didn’t like her. The friendships she had been desiring felt impossible to find.

The Transformation

One year later, Olivia shared: “A ton of what I wrote down has happened. I have friends. I have friends coming over to my house. I have spiritual abundance.”

“The light within came on, the darkness went away. With the guidance of the weekly classes and A Course in Miracles, I was able to turn it around. Now basically all the lights in my house are on. I don’t feel darkness.”

“People just tell me ‘What’s different with you? It’s something.’ And I just smile. People from all over are just saying ‘I love you.'”

A Course in Miracles tells us:
“You are still free to choose, but can you really want the rewards of the ego in the presence of the rewards of God?”

Olivia chose differently—and it shifted her consciousness which shifted the rest of her life.

The Key That Opened The Rest of Her Life

What was her secret? “To drop judgment after judgment after judgment has been probably the biggest key to opening up to the love of the world. I could see myself judging, but it was such a habitual lifetime after lifetime of being a judger.”

“Jennifer kept saying ‘A judger always feels judged.’ But I knew I was projecting that—I just couldn’t grasp it until I started taking ownership of my judgments and realized they were actually keeping people away from me. People that I loved and wanted to love.”

ACIM reminds us: “Those who are certain of the outcome can afford to wait, and wait without anxiety.”

When we’re willing to do this work consistently, the outcome is certain.

Our Invitation I can SO COMPLETELY relate to Olivia feeling “it won’t work for me.”  I felt that way and said that over and over again for years.  I was 100% convinced this kind of growth wasn’t possible for me.  I felt like I’d tried everything and always failed.

I didn’t realize that I hadn’t tried the RIGHT things.

Olivia didn’t feel like it was possible for her. But she was willing nonetheless. She had a desire to shift her life, her family, her relationships, how she felt about herself and in the world.

Her willingness was the key.

This is not uncommon. Olivia’s not special. It works for anyone who’s willing.

In my Masterful Living Program, we spiral up together. Everybody has their own unique experience – no two are alike – but together we come to that great willingness. We can find it. And it’s there for the taking. We can do this!

I often say that the message I’d most like to share every day is:  Don’t give up.  Give it UP!  I used to give up all the time, and now I know that if you feel like giving up, give up for an hour, maybe for the rest of the day, but give it OVER and UP to the Higher Holy Spirit Self.

God never gives up on us.
God never judges, ever.

We’re ALWAYS on God’s good side, in God’s good graces, and the willingness to turn things over is profoundly helpful and healing.  Surrender, baby.  Surrender it all and watch what happens!
