This was a major aha for me – It took me decades of feeling betrayed, like a victim, and struggling with real fears before I realized that I was actually seeing myself as a victim, “crucified” and that in order for me to move forward in my spiritual growth I had to COMPLETELY give up seeing myself that way.

I was doing it to myself and I didn’t have to.  I could step into ACIM Lesson #25 – I don’t know what ANYTHING is for, including this betrayal.  I could, if I was willing, claim it for my good.

Easter isn’t just a date on the calendar. It’s an invitation — and the question it asks us is this: where are we still in crucifixion mode? Where do we still believe we’ve been betrayed? Because, and here’s the truth: we cannot have a resurrection while we’re still interested in crucifixion.

What Crucifixion Really Is

In A Course in Miracles, crucifixion is not something that happened to one person two thousand years ago. Crucifixion is judgment. Every time we hold a grievance, we are crucifying ourselves.

Every time we replay what someone did to us, the pain and the trauma, we nail ourselves back to the cross. Every time we say “I’ve been betrayed” and mean it as a final verdict, we’re choosing separation over love — and separation is painful, not as punishment, but as the natural consequence of moving away from what we actually are.

What Jesus Demonstrated

In Chapter 6, Section 1, A Course in Miracles shares what Jesus himself says about his crucifixion. He elected — for our sake and his — to demonstrate that “the most outrageous assault as judged by the ego does not matter.”

Not because the assault wasn’t real on the level of the body, but because the body is not what we are. He was betrayed, abandoned, beaten, and finally killed — and chose to demonstrate that none of it had ultimate power. That is the teaching. Not that we’ll never be hurt, but that the hurt does not have to be the end of our story.  Our perception is what causes the pain.  “Pain is a wrong perspective.”

The Resurrection Available Right Now

We are the ones who set ourselves free from the cross of crucifixion — not through willpower, not through years of waiting, but through willingness.

The willingness to put down the grievance, to stop identifying with the wound, to rise. This is the Easter invitation — not to commemorate someone else’s resurrection, but to have our own. Right here, right now, if we allow it.

In one of our Programs, we practice this daily, together, with real community and support. Masterful Living is where resurrection becomes more than an inspiring idea. You know you’re living A Course in Miracles when your mind is more and more peaceful. And, you know what? It’s a LOT more joyful too!

We choose resurrection. We choose to remember we’re already free. 🌈

NEW PODCAST EPISODE: You’ve Been Fighting the Wrong Battle I’ve been studying and teaching A Course in Miracles for decades years, and there’s one teaching I come back to again and again — because it’s the one that most students resist. It’s also the one that finally set me free. In this episode, I share why everything we try to fix “out there” keeps failing, and what we’re actually supposed to be looking at instead. If you’ve been feeling powerless — like the world keeps doing things TO you — this episode is going to challenge you. And it might just change where you put your attention from now on.
