What’s Not to Like?

Here’s a phrase that I’ve found helpful for keeping my mind open to the blessings: “What’s not to like?”

I know, I know. You’re probably thinking, “Jennifer, have you seen the news? Have you seen my bank account? Have you met my ex?”

Sometimes when I say it, people look at me as though I’ve lost my mind, but give me a minute to explain.

When we ask “What’s not to like?” we’re not being Pollyanna. We’re not pretending everything is sunshine and rainbows. We’re doing something much more radical – we’re admitting we don’t actually know what anything is for.

Let me give you an example from our Quantum Counseling community. Recently, someone was going through a really tough time. Lost their job, relationship ended, health challenges – the whole nine yards. The old me would have said, “Oh, that’s terrible! That’s really bad!”

But instead, I asked myself, “What’s not to like?” Not because I enjoy seeing people suffer, but because I don’t know what this situation is bringing them. Maybe losing that job opens the door to their true calling. Maybe that relationship ending frees them to meet their soulmate. Maybe those health challenges lead them to a deeper spiritual practice and a systemic healing that brings benefit to every minute of the rest of their lives.  All this could be true.

I. Don’t. Know. And neither do you!

When I say “What’s not to like?” I’m really saying, “I trust that everything is bringing me something valuable, even if I can’t see it yet.” It’s a powerful statement of faith.

This doesn’t mean we bypass our feelings or pretend we’re not hurting. It means we stay open to the possibility that what looks like a disaster might be a miracle in disguise. This is exactly what I teach our Quantum Counselors – how to hold space for pain while staying open to miracles.

A miraculous breakthrough is always about to occur and we can bring it into being.

Think about your own life.
Haven’t some of your “worst” experiences led to your greatest growth?
Haven’t some of your “failures” opened doors you didn’t even know existed?

Everything is bringing you something valuable. EVERYTHING.
The question is: Are you willing to receive it?

Today, when something happens that your ego wants to label as “bad,” try asking “What’s not to like?” Not as denial, but as an opening. As a willingness to see beyond your limited perception.

Because if God is good (and God IS good), and everything God created is good, then what’s not to like?

Imagine being able to ask “What’s not to like?” in any situation and truly mean it. Our Quantum Counseling Training Intensive (QCTI)  will teach you this level of spiritual mastery. NEW ACIM PODCAST EPISODE: my topic is Everyone Is Teaching—What Are You Teaching?. In this episode, I share one of the most transformative teachings from the Manual for Teachers—that we’re always teaching through who we are, not just what we say. I open up about my own recent extinction burst around moving trauma and how these intense moments of old patterns surfacing are actually breakthroughs waiting to happen. I guide you through the revolutionary practice of “to have, give all to all,” showing how my years as a spiritual counselor taught me that when we hold space for someone’s perfection, both of us heal. This episode is my invitation to you to consciously choose what you’re teaching in every moment and to join me in recognizing that teaching only Love is not just beautiful—it’s our mission from God.
