I used to be the queen of creating chaos. Not because I enjoyed drama, but because it was my shield. When I felt insecure—which was most of the time, despite my confident exterior—I’d stir up a distraction.

Here’s how it worked: When I felt vulnerable or didn’t know what I was doing, I’d create a problem. Start an argument here, manufacture a crisis there. Anything to keep people’s attention on the chaos instead of on me. And I didn’t even know I was doing it—I just thought I was bad.

As an Enneagram Eight, this was my go-to move. Create chaos, and nobody notices you’re drowning in self-doubt. They’re too busy dealing with whatever fire you’ve lit to see that you feel like a fraud.

The Hidden Cost of Chaos

A Course in Miracles teaches us that “the ego analyzes; the Holy Spirit accepts. The attempt to understand totality by breaking it down is clearly the characteristically contradictory approach of the ego to everything.”

When we’re creating or getting pulled into chaos, we’re deep in ego territory. We’re analyzing, judging, fighting—anything but accepting.

The truth that changed things for me? Understanding that chaos is a distraction from our real purpose. ACIM Lesson 258 reminds us: “Let me remember that my goal is God.”

Not managing chaos.
Not proving ourselves.
God.

Working in the Invisible

These days, instead of creating chaos, I work in the invisible realm.

Through prayer, forgiveness, and choosing love moment by moment. It’s the fastest path because there’s no distance in the quantum field of consciousness.

In my Quantum Counseling Training Intensive, we learn to recognize these ego patterns—not just in ourselves but in those we serve. Because once you see how chaos functions as a shield, you can choose differently.

Your Invitation to Peace

Next time you feel that familiar urge to stir things up or get sucked into someone else’s drama, pause. Ask yourself: “Is this taking me closer to my goal? Is this helping me remember God?”

In that moment you can place your hand on your heart. Take a breath. Remember that you don’t need chaos to distract. You don’t need drama to hide behind. Your true safety lies in remembering who you are.

You’re not the chaos.
You’re not the insecurity.
You’re the light of the world,
created in perfect love.

And that’s worth remembering, especially when the urge to create distraction feels strongest.

This can be our baseline spiritual practice—choosing peace over chaos, acceptance over analysis, God over distraction.

When we remember our goal, everything aligns naturally.

If you’d like to address the root cause of ALL your challenges rather than managing symptoms forever, join with like-minded souls for my FREE Forgiveness Workshop this Saturday, October 18. In this sacred gathering, we’ll practice the forgiveness process that dissolves the belief in separation at its source. You’ll discover how every upset, every conflict, every struggle is really the same issue in different costumes – and how one powerful spiritual process can heal them all. Come experience what happens when we stop trying to solve a thousand different problems and start healing the one thing that creates them all. Your willingness to choose Love over separation is all that’s needed.

If you’re ready to have a deep heart healing, consider joining my Quantum Counseling Training Intensive. This profound 8-day program, beginning October 31st, will guide you through the same transformation I experienced – and teach you how to facilitate it for others. You’ll learn to see the world through Love’s eyes and become a beacon of hope for those still trapped in judgment. Through experiential exercises and heart-centered techniques, you’ll develop the skills to help others find peace in a chaotic world. Our certified Spiritual Counselors are available for FREE Exploratory Calls to help you determine if my Quantum Counseling Training Intensive aligns with your spiritual path. Your heart knows the answer.

LATEST ACIM PODCAST EPISODE: In this episode, I dive into ACIM teachings on oneness from Chapter 9, Section 6 on The Acceptance of Your Brother —and how this realization transforms the way we approach our relationships, especially helpful to us during the upcoming holiday season. I share my personal journey from difficult family gatherings to peaceful celebrations by learning this profound truth: your brothers and sisters are part of you, and rejecting them means rejecting yourself. I open up about my 25 years as a spiritual counselor and how seeing perfection in my clients taught me to see it in myself, and I guide you through the practice of extending love even when it’s hard—especially with the relatives who trigger you most. I also share my perspective that humanity is experiencing a collective “extinction burst” where all our separation thinking is surfacing intensely before we break through to collective awakening, and I invite you to join me in choosing to see the Christ in everyone as we prepare for the holidays ahead.
