Now, it’s easy to say, “I choose Freedom” – but that hasn’t always been the case. Eliminating ideas I’ve held in my mind about separation has not been easy. It presents daily challenges. The ego is relentless in its efforts to convince me that I am separate from all others and therefore separate from the love of God, the flow of prosperity, healing and wholeness, etc.
When I am judgmental of others I experience pain and suffering. When I am open hearted and compassionate I feel joyful and free.
I choose freedom!
Yes, and sometimes even though I reached for the highest possibility in my heart, the ego would grab me and say “are you crazy?” That’s is when my devotion to my spiritual practice and to living nonviolently gave me the strength to say “get thee behind me, devilish thought!”
Today, I know who I am. I am in relationship with the only one there is. Today my practice leads me to right relationship with myself and all others. It is the very essence of Grace expressing in my life. As I lift myself I can share with others and lift them too. In this way, my personal practice of nonviolence makes a profound difference in the world.
