It’s good to have lots of spiritual tools so that we can use an effective one when it’s needed.
It’s incredibly helpful to understand the way our mind works so we can tell if we’re in ego identity or our true spiritual identity and we can switch out of ego if it starts to be painful.
The beginning of fearful spirals can be when we start to imagine what we don’t want to have happen. We start thinking “what if …?” And next thing we know we’re on a downward trajectory where we’re imagining one negative thing after another.
Ernest Holmes, founder of the Science of Mind, taught us that worry is the negative use of our imagination.
Often, when we fall into fearful imaginings we can start feeling even more worried that we’re the ones calling the negativity forth by our imaginings.
Even though what we’re imagining isn’t happening, it feels like it is. Our body doesn’t know the difference between imagination and experience.
Deep down we know our mind is the mind of God and that mind is very powerful. Sometimes we’re calling forth punishment because we feel guilty. We actually believe we deserve it. This is some crazy stuff we’re dealing with!
The main thing to know is that we have a true friend in the Higher Holy Spirit Self and in the angels.
When the feelings of fear begin it’s because we’re thinking thoughts that aren’t true. They’re not valid. Instead of believing them and looking for evidence to support them, the thing to do is PARTNER UP with the Higher Holy Spirit Self.
It’s time to call in a team of angels to help us and turn the ship around.
In Lesson 183 of the A Course in Miracles Workbook, Jesus tells us:
“God’s Name can not be heard without response, nor said without an echo in the mind that calls you to remember. Say His Name, and you invite the angels to surround the ground on which you stand, and sing to you as they spread out their wings to keep you safe, and shelter you from every worldly thought that would intrude upon your holiness.”
That seems very clear to me – and it works.
Don’t take my word for it.
Don’t take Jesus’ word for it.
PROVE IT for yourself. It’s so easy to test. Let the angels stand around you and sing to you as they spread their wings to keep you self and shelter you from the stinking thinking.
Prove it and you’ll realize that suffering is optional. Freedom is a choice.
Prove it and then you can model it so others will see and learn to choose Freedom too.
