The peace of God isn’t something we’re working toward. It’s already there. It’s already pre-installed.

Think of white light. Inside it are the other colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. The whole spectrum lives inside that one light, whether or not we can see the separate colors at any given moment.

The spiritual qualities of God work exactly the same way. Love, Joy, Freedom, Peace, Harmony, Prosperity, Wholeness, Wisdom, Clarity, Abundance. These aren’t rewards we earn somewhere down the road. They’re the truth of our being.  These spiritual qualities are our true nature.

Which raises an honest question. If peace is already ours, why don’t we feel it?

We grew up hearing that we’re to seek first the kingdom, and that all else will be added unto us. The kingdom is within. Seeking it means looking underneath the trash heap of beliefs and ideas, opinions and judgments that we’ve collected over the years.

Under all that junk, the stuff we made up, the pristine and pure Peace of God still remains. Unsullied. Waiting.

We don’t even have to take the trash out ourselves. What we’re being asked to do is simply to be willing to let the trash be taken out of our mind. The Higher Holy Spirit Self does the heavy lifting if we allow it.

A Course in Miracles describes it as “learning how to offer to the Holy Spirit everything you do not want. He knows what to do with it.”

Our Higher Holy Spirit Self knows what to do with it. We don’t have to know at the level of the personality.

That single line has taken more weight off my shoulders than almost anything else I’ve learned. We’re not being asked to sort the trash, analyze the trash, or understand where every piece of it came from. We’re asked to be willing to hand it over.  To let it go.

We spend so much energy trying to figure out how to get Peace. How to arrange our circumstances, how to manage the people around us, how to think our way into calm. None of that’s our job.

We don’t have to figure out how.  Our job is to allow.

That’s the whole assignment. Not technique, not effort, not spiritual expertise. Just the willingness to stop holding the thoughts in our mind that block the flow of these qualities, and to let them be carried away.

If you’d like a few hours of practice at handing the trash over, that’s exactly what we do together in my Finding Freedom From Fear spiritual bootcamp program.

The peace was never missing. We’ve had it all along.

The trigger is never the person in front of us. It’s in the belief system we’re still carrying, and it can be handed over and healed.

SEPTEMBER: My Finding Freedom From Fear Spiritual Bootcamp is 90 days of moving out of coping and into real trust, faith and listening to the higher wisdom, together. This is my longest running program – popular because it is such a game changer. Are you up for truly moving past fear? I only offer this once per year – We start in September! Click here now to learn more now.

SEPTEMBER:  How about some free classes with great ACIM teachers?  Living A Course in Miracles: Release the Worry, Rest in Trust is open for registration now!  Worry isn’t natural. It’s a habit, and habits can be dissolved when we’re truly willing. That’s what we’re doing together September 10 through 13 in my FREE series. 5 teachers, 8 classes, 4 days, and every one of us has walked through the worry ourselves and come out the other side. We’ll look at what worry actually is in the mind, why willpower has never once dissolved it, and how to hand the future over so we can rest even while life is still unresolved. Not denial. Not pretending we’re fine. A real change of mind. It’s FREE, and I’d love to have you with us. Register now so you don’t forget at powerofloveministry.net/Release
Next Free Forgiveness Workshop is Monday, Labor Day, September 7th.  Sign up now so you don’t forget.
LATEST PODCAST EPISODE:  I Took God to Couples Therapy with Neda Boin We can put ourselves through so much and call it devotion. The harder it gets, the more committed we think we are. Neda Boin lived that for years, and when she finally sat down with God about it, what surfaced wasn’t the thing she’d been trying to fix. It was sitting one layer underneath, and it’s the layer almost none of us look at. If you’re forgiving faithfully and peace still hasn’t come, this is the one I’d like you to hear.
