For these next 40 days – the subject line for my Daily Spiritual Espresso will be different – I’m going to be numbering the days – so, tomorrow will be Day 2. As soon as we’re done all will go back to the way it was. If you sign up for my Pray & Clear program you won’t be getting the blog too. You’ll just get 1 email and you’ll also get some extras related to my Pray & Clear program. If you don’t sign up for it, you won’t see those extras, you’ll just see the Daily Spiritual Espresso.

I’ve done a lot of fasting and cleansing in the last 20 years and I’ve been AMAZED at how much mental and emotional healing happens when I cleanse and fast on a physical level. The mind-body-spirit connection is more tangible than I ever could have imagined before beginning to fast and cleanse my body and mind.

One of the things that many of these programs don’t address is that this detoxification on a physical level also brings emotional clearing. A lot of people are looking for help with their emotions. For many, the main reason to make changes on a physical and spiritual level is because they don’t like their emotional life. In the next 40 days, I plan to address that.

In the last year, many spiritual seekers have told me they’d like to have more Joy in their life – and that’s our #1 goal in the next 40 days. I fully anticipate that we’ll also feel better mentally and physically – and feel more connected spiritually.

You’re probably aware that you’re affected on all levels by what you eat and drink. Eating and drinking things that don’t agree with you will leave you feeling hungover and toxic. For the next 40 days I’m going to invite you to eliminate some things and possibly try some new things – all with the purpose of bringing more balance, which will naturally bring more Joy.

Love is the only healer there is.
Love brings permanent healing.
We’re going to Love ourselves in order to have a healing, and we’re doing it together!

It can be really challenging to give things up that we crave and feel addicted to.
It can be unthinkable to give up our favorite forms of self-medication.
And … it’s much easier to replace things than it is to just give them up.

Fortunately, all I’m suggesting is that you try it for 40 days as a demonstration of Self-Love.

I’m asking you to give up sugar for 40 days.

If you crave sugar and feel addicted to it – this is a chance to set yourself free. And that’s why we have a facebook group – so we can share our experience and support each other. Please take a minute to join our group and share your intention for the next 40 days. What are some tangible results you’d like to experience?

If you feel addicted to sugar and feel like your body craves it, remember this – all the cravings are in your mind. On a spiritual level, the sugar is a substitute for Love and God’s goodness. You don’t need a substitute because the full load of Divine Love has already been given to you.

Our cravings and addictive feelings are really for a false idol in some form. It might take a few weeks to feel the shift, but wouldn’t you rather experience the lasting transformational healing Power of Love instead of a temporary sugar fix?

Giving up sugar will DEFINITELY help you stabilize mentally and emotionally. Love yourself enough to just try it for 40 days.

I’ve been so impressed with how cleansing and detoxing on a physical level actually helped me to reduce the amount of negative and fearful thoughts I had. Wow! I had no idea that would happen when I first began. It’s the Love factor. Replace the sugar with Self-Loving acts of kindness and you’ll begin to feel the effects of your new choices. Please start to pay more attention to how you feel and what your thoughts are.

There is hidden sugar in a lot of foods, so if you can avoid processed foods, it’s much easier and you don’t have to read the labels.

Did you know one of the reasons people tend to over-eat is that they’re actually starved for nutrition (not calories). We’ll get into that later. For now, let me say that many people are really starved for minerals. We need minerals to be healthy. Lots of health concerns are easily healed with a diet that’s rich in minerals. I’m not a doctor, and I’m not giving medical advice. I’m a googler – I google for info and I’ve been learning a lot over the last 20 years.

Sugar depletes the body of minerals. Give it a rest and let your body restore. Do you know how you’ll feel when your body has healthy levels of minerals? Would you like to find out?

Sugar is so hard on the liver – and your liver has a major impact on your emotions – and that’s why we’re going for the big step right out of the box – to bring forth the biggest benefit right away. You’ll experience more peace of mind with less sugar. And, anything you can do to Love yourself more fully will bring you more Peace. You deserve more Peace of mind!

Yes, there’s sugar in fruit – still, substitute fruit, but not fruit juices – get the fruit with the fiber. Avoid honey, maple syrup and agave. For now. This is temporary.

Stevia is a great sweetener, but it’s not to everyone’s taste. It has a lot of health benefits . Yes, stevia is a natural sweetener with no calories that’s actually good for you – lots of minerals! It comes in drops and in little packets. Organic if possible.

If you find yourself craving sugar – offer the craving UP to your Higher Holy Spirit Self – literally – give it away. Call upon the angels to help you release the craving and any addictive tendencies. You might be skeptical, but this is a chance to build your faith muscle! Go for it!

Here are some other helpful tips to release the attachment to sugar and feelings of craving:

1. drink plenty of water (that’s H20 without additives),
2. eat lots of greens and green drinks are great too (avoid the ones with fruit juice)
3. eat mineral rich foods such as seaweed. I love seaweed as a snack and it’s so easy to get now! It’s not as tasty as potato chips and corn chips, but it’s salty and a bit crunchy – so if you like texture, try it!
4. eat a good dose of protein – especially at lunch
5. have some almond butter or nuts handy as a snack
6. try fermented drinks like kombucha which is also great for your liver.
7. get some exercise, enjoy some endorphins
8. try some herbal teas – with stevia – or with lemon – or both!
9. make lemonade with stevia
10. go for a walk, get some fresh air
11. take a hot shower

The next thing I’d like to invite you to do is to get and read this book: Clean by Alejandro Jungerclick here to see at amazon.com. This book comes in paperback, audio book and kindle. If you have any health issues at all, including emotional and mental health, you might find this book as helpful and interesting as I did. You may or may not wish to follow the 21 day program in the book – but you’ll learn a lot.

We’re off to a start! I look forward to our journey together and the healing we’re calling forth! I’m glad we’re doing it together to make 2016 our most transformational year ever!

We’re waking up together and I’m so grateful for that! If you’re finding what I’m sharing to be helpful won’t you please share at facebook and twitter to let others know? Thank you!
