Here’s something that might shock you: The god of sickness is not God.

A Course in Miracles makes this crystal clear in Chapter 10, Section 3. There’s the God of Love – the real God – and then there’s this invented god of sickness that we’ve been worshipping without realizing it.

Two completely different gods.

The god of sickness says:

  • “You deserve to suffer”
  • “Your pain is punishment for your sins”
  • “Healing must be earned”
  • “Some illnesses are incurable”

That’s not the voice of Love.

Here’s what made a difference for me: I had to ask myself honestly, “Which god am I believing in?”

Because when we believe sickness comes from God, when we think our pain is divine punishment, when we accept suffering as “God’s will” – we’re not worshipping the God of Love.

We’re worshipping an idol. A false god. A projection of our own guilt and fear.

The real God knows no sickness.

The real God sees only wholeness. Only perfection. Only the radiant health that is our true nature.

A Course in Miracles asks: “Does God know of your concern? Of course! But he knows it is groundless.”

Groundless.

Our sickness, our pain, our suffering – from God’s perspective, it’s all groundless. It’s all based on false beliefs about who we are and what we deserve.

This doesn’t mean we ignore our physical symptoms or skip medical care. It means we stop giving our illness the power to define us. We stop thinking our pain proves we’re bad people.

We remember who we really are.

We are the beloved children of a God who knows no sickness.
A God who sees only perfection.
A God whose will for us is complete joy.

When we align with the real God instead of the god of sickness, healing becomes natural.

Not because we’ve earned it, but because wholeness is our birthright.

NEW ACIM PODCAST EPISODE:  All Hatred is Self-Hatred What if the thing you’re most afraid of isn’t pain, loss, or suffering?

In this episode, I turn to one of the most startling passages in A Course in Miracles – Chapter 13: The Fear of Redemption – and what I found there is not what I expected. With so much hatred, division, and disinformation swirling in the world right now, I share a raw and honest post I wrote about my own experience with rage – and the connection I’ve discovered between self-hatred and everything we see playing out around us.

I explore a line from the ACIM Text explaining that we’re not actually afraid of what we think we’re afraid of. Something much deeper – and much more beautiful – is what we’re really running from.

I also share the single moment in my mid-twenties that changed everything for me – one sentence I heard myself say to myself.

If you’ve been feeling the weight of the world, come join me. There’s a way through – and it might surprise you.
