I’d like to share something that might be difficult to hear, but it could change everything for you if you’re in a healing profession and feeling stuck.

For years, I prayed and prayed for healing – for myself, for my clients, for the world.

I wondered why God wasn’t answering my prayers. Why wasn’t Jesus helping me? I felt frustrated and confused, like there was some invisible wall between me and the divine assistance I desperately needed.

Then I had a revelation that completely shifted my understanding: I was praying for healing while simultaneously holding onto anger, resentment, regret, blame, and shame.

I was literally asking for divine love to flow through me while blocking that very flow with my unloving thoughts.

Think about it – how can love heal through us when we’re actively choosing thoughts that separate us from love? It’s like standing under a waterfall with an umbrella, wondering why we’re not getting wet.

A Course in Miracles taught me that “Love is the healer. Love is what we are. Love is our true identity.” When we choose to extend love, express love, share love – that’s when healing happens. But we can’t extend what we’re not allowing ourselves to receive, and to BE.

The breakthrough came when I realized that my spiritual practice couldn’t just be intellectual. It had to move from my head to my heart. I had to stop studying healing and start being healing. I had to release the meaning I’d made about past hurts and disappointments.

True forgiveness isn’t about condoning harmful behavior or pretending bad things didn’t happen. It’s about letting go of our interpretations, our judgments, our stories about what occurred. That’s where the real pain lives – not in the events themselves, but in the meanings we’ve attached to them.

If you’re a healer who feels blocked, ask yourself: What unloving thoughts am I still holding onto? What resentments am I carrying? What judgments am I cherishing?

The beautiful truth is that the moment we release these blocks, love can flow freely through us again. We don’t need more training or credentials. We only need to have more forgiveness – of ourselves, of others, of the past.

Our healing work begins with healing ourselves.

Not because we’re broken, but because we’re ready to remember what we truly are: love itself, expressing in human form.

What blocks to Love are you willing to release today?

NEW ACIM PODCAST EPISODE: my topic is You’re Not Evil – You’re Just Playing Small (And Here’s How to Stop) In this episode, I shared how I used to feel fundamentally limited and evil, believing there was some immovable block preventing my spiritual growth, when the truth was I was simply playing small and denying my divine inheritance. Working with A Course in Miracles Lesson 166 (“I am entrusted with the gifts of God”), I discovered that God’s trust in us is limitless even when our trust in God is minimal, and that we must unite our will with God’s will to receive and recognize the pre-installed gifts that are already ours. I emphasized that we’re not victims but dreamers of the dream, and that taking responsibility for our creative power – rather than hiding from it – transforms us from tragic wanderers into servants in our Father’s house who hold the high watch for all humanity.
