I’d like to share something that might sound outrageous at first, but stay with me: “God is incomplete without you, and without me.”
Before the ego jumps in with protests about grandiosity or specialness, let me explain. This isn’t ego talking – this is the deepest spiritual truth about our essential place in Divine wholeness.
Think of it this way: if God is all that is, and we are part of God, then without us, the “all” wouldn’t be complete.
We’re not separate beings trying to get back to God – we’re integral pieces of God’s very being, temporarily pretending we’re on our own.
A Course in Miracles tells us to “choose then what you want in these terms and accept nothing that you would not offer to God as wholly fitting for God.” In other words, nothing unworthy of God is worthy of us, because we ARE part of God.
This completely revolutionizes how we see ourselves and our choices.
That relationship that treats us poorly?
Would we offer that to God?
That job that crushes our spirit?
That inner dialogue filled with self-hatred?
Would any of this be fitting for the Divine?
When we truly accept that God is incomplete without us, we can no longer settle for littleness.
We can no longer accept for ourselves what we wouldn’t offer to Spirit.
We start making choices from our true worth instead of our imagined unworthiness.
The Holy Spirit’s evaluation of us is based on this knowledge – that we are essential parts of Divine completeness. This evaluation never wavers, never changes, never gets disappointed in us. It simply knows what we are and never forgets.
Meanwhile, the ego minded person’s evaluation keeps us trapped in the very thought system that created our sense of separation in the first place. We can’t see our true worth because we’re unaware of what we are.
So when we’re feeling small, unworthy, or lost, we can remember this profound truth: we are God’s missing piece. Not because God needs us to be whole, but because we ARE God’s wholeness, along with everyone else.
We matter. We belong. We are indispensable to the completeness of All That Is.

NEW ACIM PODCAST EPISODE: my topic is The Two Voices in Your Head (And Why Only One Tells the Truth) We carry two conflicting evaluations of ourselves – the Holy Spirit’s loving truth that sees our perfection and the ego’s distorted perception that sees only lack and unworthiness. According to numerology, we’re in a completion year where unhealed patterns are surfacing for final healing before we enter a new cycle and this means we’re all being pushed to let go of the patterns of pain. In this episode, drawing from A Course in Miracles Chapter 9, Section 7, the core message is that the Holy Spirit never forgets our true nature while the ego keeps us trapped in littleness, and our only path to freedom is choosing which evaluation we’ll align with through our willingness to value what’s truly valuable.
