When NASA sends a rocket to the moon they plan a trajectory. The tiniest shift in the trajectory will cause the rocket to land in a completely different place. The same is true in our lives. Eliminating 25% of our self-doubt and negative self-talk will COMPLETELY change the course of our lives and we’ll end up in a completely different place as we travel over the course of the next year or so.

This is exactly what I did. Through doing the inner forgiveness work of letting the attachments to the past go, and eliminating false beliefs, I opened my heart to focus on BEING loving and that changed everything for me.

We can change the trajectory of our lives through our inner work.
When we change the way we look at things, when we change our view, everything begins to shift.
We don’t have to review the past, we give up our attachment to reviewing it.

Many folks think that inner work is reviewing the painful past and looking for the screw ups.  That’s not so helpful.  It doesn’t clear the memories.  In fact, it can increase our suffering by re-igniting our attachment to the past.

We’re all aware that right now is the time for us to dig deep and pull up the festering roots of our own hurtful thoughts.  Everything in this world is pressuring us to give up the habits and beliefs, the self-perceptions and rejections that keep us playing small, living in lack and limitation.

No person can do this for us.  Yet, if we’re sincerely ready and willing to let this mental trash, and emotional clutter be removed from our awareness, the Higher Holy Spirit Self, the mighty I AM Presence can do it.  Our willingness is all that’s required.

We don’t have to review the past, we give up our attachment to reviewing it.

Now is a time of fear and worry for many, and that can actually be a time of great healing as well.  I know many who are angry about what they see in the world.  I get it.  One thing that helps me is that I know God is progressive, never regressive.

What Spirit has given us can never be taken away.

This life in Spirit is filled with surprising and challenging losses in the material world.  It can be helpful to look deeply and recognize that the grief is often related to a shift in our identity.  For instance, a mother who loses their only child, will have a HUGE shift in her identity.  When we deeply grieve it’s often connected to losing some part of an illusory identity that we’ve constructed.

We grieve the future we were hoping for.
We grieve the loss of who we think we are in this world.

A friend who was a trapeze artist told me that the trick to being able to succeed with the trapeze is you have to be good at letting go and trusting the catcher will catch you.

If you don’t trust the catcher, you can’t let go.
If you don’t let go, you can’t succeed.
When we let go of the past, we can have a new future.

We have to trust Spirit in order to call forth the highest and best, and move out of playing small.

Learning to release attachments isn’t fun for anyone.  Yet there’s tremendous benefit to being able to let the obstructions in our self-view go.  We really can learn to hold our spiritual seat in the midst of the storm and trust that everything that falls away or seems to be taken from us is part of God’s blessing.

I find the ACIM Manual for Teachers so helpful, particularly the Development of Trust:

“First, they must go through what might be called “a period of undoing.”  This need not be painful, but it usually is so experienced.  It seems as if things are being taken away, and it is rarely understood initially that their lack of value is merely being recognized.  How can lack of value be perceived unless the perceiver is in a position where he must see things in a different light?  He is not yet at a point at which he can make the shift entirely internally.  And so the plan will sometimes call for changes in what seem to be external circumstances.  These changes are always helpful.  When the teacher of God has learned that much, he goes on to the second stage.”  M-4.I.A.3.

We can change the trajectory of our lives, and all humanity, right now, by the choices we make to let the past go and live from Love.  We can learn to trust, let go and let God.  Spirit will guide us when we’re willing!

Are you ready to stop playing small?  I’m offering an online retreat that starts on September 5.  It’s one of the most effective and successful things I’ve done.  People repeat it 3 and 4 times because they get so much out of it.  If you feel like you might be playing small in some area of your life – this could be your breakthrough!  Plan for your success and we’ll do it together – click here to learn more about the Stop Playing Small Online Retreat in September.  It’s on Early Bird Special right now!

TODAY, We’ll have a spiritual celebration together we have wonderful inspiration and music planned for you – we call it Sundays With Spirit. If you can’t join us, you can catch the replay!  Because we’re live on video, you’ll have to register to get the details.  All are welcome, there’s no charge, but you do have to register, unless you’ve already registered in the past.

Latest  ACIM PODCAST EPISODE: my topic is You ARE the Treasure: Why God Values You Above Everything Else. Exploring “The Treasure of God” from A Course in Miracles Chapter 8, I share the profound revelation that WE are God’s only treasure – not money or worldly things, but us. Through Jesus’s retelling of the prodigal son story and my reflection on how movies like The Matrix, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings all feature “savior of the world” themes, I realized we’re all meant to be saviors through joining with the Holy Spirit and seeing Christ in everyone. The key to moving from confusion to clarity is accepting that EVERYONE is equally valuable to God – from the worst person imaginable to Mother Teresa – and understanding that God’s will is our will, there’s no separation. Our function is to create and extend love in whatever form that takes, whether cooking a meal or teaching a class, and when we accept our true value as God’s treasure, we can finally live in the peace and freedom that is our birthright!
