For many people, grief and suffering are what make them special. If the suffering goes on a while it can be difficult to let go of. It becomes part of your identification.

When we become identified in our own mind as the one who suffers, the one who is without and in lack, then we begin to affirm it over and over again all day long. It’s insidious.

Recently I was with two other women I’d recently met. It was just before Mother’s Day in the UK and we quickly discovered that all three of our precious mothers had seemingly died of cancer. If we had wanted to, we could have formed a club – the dead cancer mom’s club or something like that.

I don’t identify as someone who has “lost” her Mom because I know she’s with me in Spirit always. I also don’t identify with being motherless because I don’t live in the past and my mother was always there for me. I sometimes visit the past – and I do share from what I’ve learned from my experience because it feels truly helpful and that’s my aspiration.

There’s no value to holding onto the past.

It only makes for a limited experience of Love NOW.

I have found that offering the grief and suffering to the Higher Holy Spirit Self for healing has worked. Of course, it doesn’t work if you’re not 100% sincere. It can take a while to get to the point of real sincerity. It’s worth it.

Suffering IS optional – no matter what your experience has been in this world. This is what we’re talking about this week in Living A Course in Miracles with Michael Murray and myself, This week we’re sharing about discovering the holy relationship in the midst of dying and also after death. Join me today – I’m LIVE from Paris. If you or anyone you know is struggling with the death of a loved one or their own transition, won’t you let them know these classes are free?
