I used to feel desperate to MAKE THINGS HAPPEN. I wanted to be more spiritual, have more success in the world., and make my life be what I thought it should be. The ego was driving everything including my awakening.
Fortunately, I didn’t meet my goals. Instead, I learned the Truth: if you push to succeed in the terms of the ego/world, it will all be taken away from you, or so it will seem.
What we truly desire is not of this world, it is within us.
Let us choose what we truly desire and suffer no more.
I had years of experiencing crushing waves of anger, sadness, fear and grief. I was surrendering my view of the world that I’d clung to my whole life. I was grieving the loss of who I thought I should be. I was reorienting in my relationships, including my relationship with myself.
I’d been IN LOVE with the illusion of what the ego could make of me. I’d been living in a future fantasy in order to avoid being awake to my feelings. Now, that fantasy was falling away. I had no idea how to make things happen. I had no idea how to be happy if I couldn’t make things happen. It was scary.
I wanted out of this life, but didn’t have a way out.
I had been addicted to being fiercely opinionated, judgmental, controlling and manipulative. I’d missed the best opportunities of my life by doing the very things that were supposed to make me successful.
Finally, I realized that Spirit is always available for the fullness of Love NOW. I gave up trying to make anything happen. I decided to focus completely on being loving, compassionate, and kind. And that was the beginning of my REAL success. There are no mistakes in God.
