Not guilty.

That’s God’s verdict.  We’re not guilty, and yet, we’re identified with being the guilty ones.  Part of our collective identity is that we’re all sinners and there’s no escaping our sinful nature.

Which came first:  The chicken or the egg?  It doesn’t matter.

Which came first:  the sin or the belief in sin?  The belief in sin came first.

That we are sinners is a false belief.  

It’s not true.

Never will be true.

However, if we believe it, we’re going to see it.  

If we’re tired of seeing it, we must pull up the root to have new fruit.

And, the good news is we can let the Higher Holy Spirit Self do the pulling.  We just have to be willing.

The ego thought system is devious and tricky, but it’s no match for the Higher Holy Spirit Self.

It’s no contest.  

Still, we’re the ones who decide which of the two that we’re putting in charge.

One leads to heaven and the other to the experience of hell (hell’s not a real place, but we can experience hellishness in this world if we choose.)

Depending upon who we put in charge we’ll either experience the new heaven and the new earth, a complete rebirthing and renewal or consistent, persistent suffering.  We choose.

Putting ego in charge, making that thought system an authority in our mind IS what A Course in Miracles calls “the root of all evil.”  Isn’t it great that it’s made so plain so we can plainly choose who to put in charge?
