We’ve got it all backwards.
We think judgment equals wisdom. We believe cynicism protects us. We imagine that seeing ourselves as sinners somehow keeps us humble.
But here’s the truth and it feels radical: Innocence is strength, and nothing else is strong.
The Power We’ve Forgotten
When we see ourselves as guilty, bad, or unworthy, we feel weak and frail. Many of us are constantly at war—with ourselves, with others, with life itself.
But when we remember your innocence? Everything changes.
Not the fake innocence of naivety. I’m talking about the blazing recognition of our true nature—untouched by any mistake, unscarred by any past, forever held in God’s Love.
The Vision That Heals
A Course in Miracles tells us, “Walk you in glory, with your head held high and fear no evil. The innocent are safe because they share their innocence.” T-23.in.3.
This isn’t poetry. It’s practical spirituality.
When I started looking for innocence—really looking—here’s what happened:
- What seemed harmful began shining with light
- People I’d judged as “wrong” revealed their beauty
- My own “sins” transformed into explorations
Everything I once thought sinful got reinterpreted as part of heaven.
The Practice That Transforms
Here’s your assignment: Think of someone you believe should be punished. Maybe it’s yourself. Maybe it’s that person who hurt you.
Now ask: “Am I willing to see their innocence instead?”
Not their actions. Their essence. The Christ within them that can never be touched by any seeming sin.
This is how you unlock your own freedom. Because every time you slam the door on a brother’s innocence, you’re saying, “I’ll stay here in hell, thanks.”
Heaven is at hand. We’re invited, but we refuse.
