I was standing in my parents’ kitchen in Rhode Island, telling my mom about something I’d like to do.

“Well, dear, I know that you’ll be able to do that, but it’s going to be hard.”

In that instant, I learned so much. About my mother. About myself. About the human race.

Because in that moment I realized – yeah, I don’t want it to be hard anymore.

I’m not interested in thinking that way anymore.

That was back in the 80’s. I used to feel like life was so hard. So confusing. So difficult. So challenging. It would be a while before I finally got to the place where I realized I was the one making it hard – because I believed life was hard.

I don’t care why I believed it. I used to care. I used to think I needed to analyze it, understand it, trace it back to its root before I could be free.

I know now that analyzing is what the ego would have me do in order to delay my healing. We were talking about this the other day in the Living A Course in Miracles free classes.

“I can’t have a healing till I understand it.”

“I can’t have a healing until I know why I believe that.”

That is old BS. (Belief system)

A Course in Miracles
tells us:

“Your past learning must have taught you the wrong things simply because it has not made you happy.”

If we’re not happy, the curriculum we’ve been operating from isn’t working.

It doesn’t matter why we learned it. It doesn’t matter whose voice taught it to us. Now, it only matters that we’re done with it.

I finally got there. I had to be willing to give up my attachment to the old curriculum. I had to be willing to walk away from the inherited belief that life is hard, that I’m not enough, that everything has to be a struggle. I’m 100% sure I brought that belief into this life with me and my family helped trigger it so I could address it, heal it, give it away to the Higher Holy Spirit Self.

For that level of healing self-forgiveness is REQUIRED.

We didn’t pick up these beliefs because we were broken.

We brought them into this life with us in order to heal them and to share that healing with all humanity because we’re one and we share the same mind.

Now we get to forever relinquish them and live without them – and that is worth EVERYTHING I’ve done to get to this place. I say it all the time – if I had to do it all over 100 times, all the challenges of learning how to let go – I would because living without those painful patterns is so wonderful. It’s worth what I went through to get here – a thousand times worth it.

If you’ve got some of these painful repetitive patterns and beliefs going on, my FREE Forgiveness Workshops are where we put them down together. And if you’d like to begin TODAY, my FREE Living A Course in Miracles series has 2 FREE classes today! Come as you are.

NEW PODCAST EPISODE: The Friend You Forgot What if the very thing I love most is the thing that’s hurting me? I sat with Chapter 26, Section 6 of A Course in Miracles this week, and one sentence grabbed my interest. I share the story of my own bottoming-out moment – when something I’d poured years into didn’t go the way I hoped – and what I had to learn the hard way about attachment, illusion, and the friend I’d forgotten I already have. Why does almost everything we strive for eventually disappoint us? And what does it actually take to stop digging up the seed before it has time to grow? Listen with me on Episode 736.
