It’s been so very helpful for me to understand what temptation is for. Temptation can either strengthen my mind or weaken it, depending upon what I choose. It’s very tempting to give into temptation. I know this because, like most people, I’ve given things up. I quit smoking several times and finally managed to kick it because I just became totally disinterested in things that were harmful to my well-being.

I used to have all kinds of challenges with self-medicating with food and eating when I really wasn’t hungry for nourishment, but I was experiencing that kind of temptation that would later leave me feeling small, helpless and hopeless.

I know what it feels like to have a craving that feels so strong it can take over if I let it. I would try to resist, but then it would become easier just to give in to it and let it run it’s course. It was embarrassing. I felt ashamed that I didn’t have more will power. And, at the same time, I felt that there was some crazy kind of comfort in self-medication, but it never left me feeling better about myself.

A Course in Miracles tells us that “all temptation is of the body.” It’s not that giving into cravings and the temptation to self-medicate and self-abuse is wrong. It’s not wrong. It’s a path of learning through pain and suffering. There’s a faster way to learn and it’s through Love. However, the Love path of learning isn’t easier than the one of pain and suffering, it’s just a whole lot more successful and a whole lot more enjoyable.

It takes 28 days to make a new habit.

What if, for 28 days you were to choose Love rather than temptation as part of your spiritual practice? Sure, it would be challenging, but you can always go back to what you’ve done in the past. Why not give yourself the possibility of Freedom and Joy? Choosing Love rather than temptation AS your spiritual practice is a great way to transform it in your mind. This way you’re not depriving yourself of anything, your opening yourself to a living spiritual practice of Love! Ask the angels to help you and they will!

For help in transcending temptation, remember:

Spiritual practice SAVES time that would otherwise be spent in suffering.
Invest in spiritual practice rather than in suffering.

As you choose Love instead of temptation, please share your results in our facebook group. If you give in to temptation, figure out what’s really going on there, be willing to observe, watch and learn.

When the temptation to interrupt the detox and thwart your momentum comes, to strengthen your alignment with Love remember to choose transcendence – PRAY and Partner UP! Build the healthy habit! Remember:

Nothing tastes as good as Joy feels!

On the detox side of life: Be prepared for sweet tooth cravings – have healthy choices – fruits such as apples, pears, my favorite is a ripe papaya with lime because the enzymes are so good for me, and the taste is SUPER delicious and satisfying.

Here’s a super simple salmon recipe that is SO delicious and EASY! Yumilicious!

MISO GLAZE SALMON
From the Clean Team – Serves 2
2 wild salmon fillets
3 tablespoons gluten-free miso
olive oil
2 teaspoons coconut nectar

Directions: In a small bowl mix the miso, coconut nectar and enough olive oil to make it into a thick liquid. Cover the fillets and broil or pan fry until cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. (I like to cook until the skin is a bit crispy.) Serve warm. Enjoy!

If you’re finding what I’m sharing to be helpful won’t you please share at facebook and twitter to let others know? Thank you!
